Glamping and Glamour: A Dunton Hot Springs Elopement

As a Dunton Hot Springs wedding photographer, I was thrilled to photograph Emily and Nick’s intimate elopement in the beautiful wilderness of Colorado. Located near Durango, Dunton Hot Springs has been on my bucket list of amazing photography locations since I started my business over a decade ago. The authentic charm and natural beauty of this Colorado gem is truly unmatched.

When Emily and Nick contacted me about their elopement, I was excited to be a part of their special day and help them make the most of it. When they told me the location, I was absolutely overjoyed. The fall season, with its glowing yellow aspens against the setting sun, was the perfect time to photograph their intimate ceremony.

I was not disappointed – Dunton Hot Springs lived up to all the hype in my head and then some. It was an absolute pleasure to capture the love and joy of Emily and Nick’s elopement in such a breathtaking location.

Including GPS coordinates on a wedding gift to each other is a cool idea because it represents the specific location where the couple’s love and commitment to each other began, and can serve as a sentimental reminder of that special moment in their lives.

I absolutely adore the nontraditional elements of an elopement, and Emily and Nick’s decision to get ready together was no exception. It was such a sweet and adorable moment, and it added even more special touches to their already unique and intimate wedding day. Getting ready together is just one example of how couples can make their elopement even more special by incorporating personal and meaningful details.

As a special and intimate touch to their wedding day, Emily and Nick chose to spend some time in the library reading letters from their friends and family filled with well wishes and love. This sentimental moment was filled with tears of joy and happy smiles as they read through the heartfelt words of those close to them. It was a touching and emotional reminder of the support and love they have from their loved ones on their special day.

For their ceremony, Emily and Nick chose a breathtaking spot overlooking the mountains towards Telluride and Ouray, and we set out on a hike to reach it. The scenery along the way was absolutely stunning, and their adorable pup couldn’t resist trying to grab all the sticks – even if they were several times bigger than them. It was a beautiful and meaningful location for their ceremony, and the natural surroundings added to the magic of the day.

In addition to being a stunning and unique location for a wedding, Dunton Hot Springs is also an incredible getaway destination. With all meals and hot springs soaks included in your stay, it’s the perfect place to relax and unwind after your special day. The natural beauty and luxurious amenities of Dunton Hot Springs make it a perfect choice for a romantic and memorable wedding, as well as a rejuvenating and relaxing retreat.

A short walk away from the property, there is a stunning waterfall that can be easily accessed. The proximity to this natural wonder makes it easy to enjoy and adds to the beauty of the surrounding area. Whether you want to take a leisurely stroll to take in the sights or have a romantic moment at the base of the falls, this nearby attraction is a must-see during your stay.

As the sun set on Emily and Nick’s special day, they made their way back to the tipi to enjoy a private dinner together. It was a beautiful and intimate way to end their wedding day, and I will always remember the joy and love that I witnessed as their photographer. It was truly the best day ever for these two, and I am grateful to have been a part of it.
